Web-Based Vessel Movement Log
Traditionally, vessel movements or log on and log off records are recorded on paper. In a sea rescue base, the paperwork can be passed on to the next shift easily. During the week, when most base stations are not occupied and the marine channels are monitored from home or sub-bases, this process becomes a bit more complicated. Often worksheets are scanned and then emailed to the next sub-base operator. Also, all emergency and other required documents are kept on paper, which can get outdated easily, without being aware of it.
The alternative can now be an online system that allows easy access to up-to-date information from anywhere for all authorised people. Vessel movements can be logged via a browser, emergency information is a click away and all important information can be updated and made available for all operators instantly online, within the system.
Automatic daily PDF backups can be activated, sending a copy of the previous day’s worksheet by email to the base email address and the base administrator. This allows keeping a local backup of for future reference.

System Overview
The system is sub-divided into two sections to keep it simple
User Section
The user side contains the main 'worksheet' where all the log-on and log-off details are recorded. It also contains a pop-up window with all relevant emergency numbers and a pop-up window with other Volunteer Marine Rescue Services. The interface is kept as simple as possible with pre-set times and dates on log-in.
A calendar is also available with all active days highlighted. Each day's activities can be downloaded as a PDF document. Monthly and daily activity graphs are available.
Administration Section
The administration side allows specially authorised user(s) to maintain the system.
This includes setting up all the base location-specific items like locations, radio channels, emergency numbers, radio operators, other VMR groups and more.
The administrator is also responsible for general user access. There is no limit to the number of operators that can be set up.
